Thanks to Sony’s virtual surround technology, the soundbar can position sound in vertical space—so you can experience three-dimensional audio without the need for in-ceiling speakers. As well as Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X®, Vertical Surround Engine lends a more realistic, multi-dimensional sound to other formats too.

Sound from sides

Using front speakers only, Sony’s digital sound field processing technology virtually reproduces the surround sound field, with audio coming at you from both sides. You can enjoy rich, cinematic surround sound without cluttering your living space.

Using a single speaker unit to reproduce a wide frequency range from bass to treble simultaneously can cause distortion and result in a muffled and unclear sound image. Our unique signal processing technology suppresses this distortion for clear dialogue and precise imaging.

Accessible for all

To help people who are blind or have low vision set up the soundbar, raised square frame indicate a QR code for the BRAVIA Connect app, which offers screen reader support. Use the built-in iOS VoiceOver/Android TalkBack function to assist with setup and remote control operations using voice narration. You no longer need to memorize the layout of buttons on the remote control or the order of items on the screen. Tactile dots on the back panel indicate the eARC HDMI terminal for connecting to a TV.
